Body Scan

A body scan is a grounding practice that brings awareness to areas of tension and invites the body to soften without force. By moving attention slowly through the body, you help quiet mental noise and support nervous-system regulation, shifting out of stress and into presence. In Loam, the body scan is a listening ritual—an invitation to notice what the body has been holding and gently let it go.

Prompt: Settle into a comfortable position and bring your attention to your breath.

Begin at the crown of your head, noticing any tension.
Move slowly through your face, jaw, neck, and shoulders—softening as you go.
Scan down the arms, chest, belly, hips, legs, and feet, allowing each area to release.

There’s nothing to change. Just notice, soften, and continue downward until your whole body feels met.

Gentle Note: If you are pregnant, postpartum, or managing a medical condition, keep the breath comfortable, shorten or skip the hold if needed, and consult your healthcare provider before practicing.
